Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for Electrical and other trades (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Fighting) from contract drawings and specifications.
  • •Develop quantities for cost plans across order-of-magnitude, conceptual, feasibility and pre-development stages, including value engineering and major variations.
  • •Perform detailed review of contract specifications and drawings to identify errors, discrepancies, and/or ambiguities.
  • •Maintain construction cost data and cost databases using historical costs, market research, and construction cost indices; prepare quantity variance reports and bid analysis/cost reduction strategies.
  • •Support cashflow preparation, maintain files/records, and assist with quantity breakdowns, measurement of variations, and value engineering assignments as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree preferably Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • •Registration and professional certification (mandatory) with organizations/institutions such as RICS or CIOB.
  • •8 to 10 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm and/or general contracting or QS firms.
  • •Proven quantity surveying skills, including preparing quantities for all trades and disciplines from contract drawings and specifications.
  • •Proficiency with computerized estimating tools such as CostX/Estimator, plus ACAD and BIM for developing control quantities.
