Job Summary

Work with the construction team to support daily asphalt paving operations across Ohio. Help with laydown of asphalt and perform tasks such as assisting with paver operations, safely backing/dumping trucks into the paver, equipment maintenance, and basic daily inspections. Adjust tow arms, screed, and flow gates to maintain proper material depth and mix, coordinate with foreman and other operators, and keep equipment clean while following safety and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Support smooth daily paving operations by working with the construction team to perform asphalt laydown duties.
•Assist with safe paver-related operations, including coordinating with drivers and backing/dumping trucks into the paver.
•Perform daily equipment maintenance and inspections, including checking for damage, loose/missing parts, fluid levels, leaks, and tire/track condition, and greasing the machine.
•Adjust tow arms, screed, and flow gates to maintain proper head of material, angle of attack, and depth of mix.
•Operate and manage paver workflow tasks (e.g., hopper management, straight-line paving), maintain clean equipment, communicate to avoid stop-and-go paving, and complete required paperwork.

Key Requirements

•Assist paving crew with asphalt laydown duties, including shovel/raking and safe truck backing/dumping into the paver.
•Follow directions and work effectively in a team environment with co-workers and supervisors.
•Be willing to travel/work away from home, and work flexible schedules including nights and weekends when necessary.
•Maintain equipment readiness by performing daily inspection and basic maintenance tasks (fluids, leaks, tires/tracks, greasing) and complete required paperwork.
•Hold an appropriate CDL; a Class A CDL is preferred, with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements preferred.
