Key Responsibilities

  • •Comply with safe operating practices and procedures and follow organizational safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations.
  • •Independently determine parts needed and coordinate with the Shop Parts Department.
  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections, and complete follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems (e.g., aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, steering systems), including welding, fabrication, and panel/body/framework replacement.
  • •Document all work according to company standards by completing forms and uploading repair documentation on repair orders using company devices and/or the Karmak application.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination such as additional degree/certification or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
  • •OEM training and certifications are preferred; participate in and complete all required company training.
  • •Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening prior to employment.
  • •Hold a current, valid DOT medical card (or be able to complete a DOT physical if required).
