Job Summary

Safely perform asphalt labor duties to support highway, utility, and grade crews and on-site plant locations. Distribute and finish asphalt by raking and shoveling, match and finish joints, and level/adjust surfaces before compaction. Move and load tools, equipment, and materials across job sites, help maintain equipment, and follow company policies and OSHA safety procedures while assisting with traffic control and site cleanup.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely distribute asphaltic material by raking and shoveling.
•Match and finish freshly made asphalt joints evenly.
•Level and adjust surface irregularities and spread asphalt to proper grade before compaction.
•Move and deliver tools, equipment, and materials across the job site, including load and unload from a work truck.
•Follow company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures; assist with traffic control, site cleanup, and equipment maintenance.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED preferred; previous construction field experience is a plus.
•Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
•Ability to read, comprehend, and write instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
•Basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to follow detailed written or oral instructions and work effectively with others.
