Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic model development, including reviewing modeling performed by staff.
  • •Develop novel methodologies to model region- or scenario-specific flooding problems and propose modifications to engineering approaches when required.
  • •Serve as an independent technical reviewer for 1D and 2D hydrologic and hydraulic studies to create FEMA flood maps.
  • •Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models to support FEMA flood maps and other regulatory/non-regulatory products for FEMA and state emergency management agencies.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with 2 years of experience as an Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineer, Wastewater Engineer, or related occupation.
  • •Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field with no experience.
  • •Experience with HEC-RAS (1D & 2D), HEC-HMS, and flood hazard analysis and mapping.
  • •Experience with EPA-SWMM and ArcMap/ArcPro for hydrologic and hydraulic analyses of riverine systems.
  • •Ability to serve as an independent technical reviewer for 1D and 2D studies and to conduct field surveys.
