Key Responsibilities

  • •Own multi-year technical architecture, system interface designs, and integration blueprints for all third-party partner brand integrations in the Vivint Home ecosystem.
  • •Perform partner technology feasibility assessments and define integration patterns before development begins.
  • •Establish architectural baselines, payload schemas, and security guardrails to ensure interoperability, low latency, and high availability within the Vivint platform.
  • •Partner with internal Platform Engineering, Embedded Firmware, Cloud Infrastructure, and Information Security teams to architect scalable, secure SDKs, APIs, and edge/cloud communication pathways.
  • •Act as the principal architectural liaison to partner engineering teams, author System Architecture Documents (SADs), API specs, and RFCs, and govern lifecycle stability using telemetry and failover/degradation strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of software/systems architecture or principal engineering experience, including at least 4+ years designing developer platforms, partner API ecosystems, IoT architectures, or connected smart home environments.
  • •Deep end-to-end IoT systems architecture experience spanning cloud-to-cloud integration patterns, local wireless topologies, embedded driver layers, and state synchronization.
  • •Experience designing complex, high-scale technical integrations with consumer electronics, silicon vendors, or software enterprise partners.
  • •Strong cross-functional execution across large-scale, multi-phase hardware/software integration programs across distributed teams.
  • •B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical engineering experience.
