Job Summary

Join a multidisciplinary Water Team as an Associate Flood Risk Consultant, leading the production of flood risk assessments and related documents for major clients. You’ll mentor staff, collaborate across technical disciplines on fluvial, coastal, surface water and drainage projects, and contribute to tenders in a flexible hybrid UK office environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and verify the production of flood risk documents such as flood risk assessments, strategic flood risk assessments, flood risk activity permits, Section 19 reports, and water resource chapters of EIAs.
•Lead input into tenders for complex and high-profile projects like nationally significant infrastructure projects.
•Build strong relationships with clients and across technical discipline teams to deliver a wide range of flood risk management projects.
•Keep up-to-date with developments in legislation and guidelines that may affect services; use project management systems to deliver outputs on programme and budget.
•Mentor staff within the team to support their professional development.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline
•Professional chartered member of CIWEM or ICE
•Significant experience in technically leading teams in the production of flood risk assessments and/or flood risk activity permits
•Strong track record of project management, following the principles of the NEC suite of contracts
•Experience and understanding of hydraulic modelling as an evidence base to flood risk assessments / activity permits
