Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate with an engineering team to define scope, constraints, and risks for design, fabrication, testing, and volume production of advanced optical components.
  • •Lead subsystem and optical assembly projects by planning, scheduling, monitoring, and executing work with cross-functional teams.
  • •Develop and maintain error budgets and subsystem requirements, and characterize/validate them during system alpha testing.
  • •Define and execute system test plans for prototype acceptance/qualification of subsystems, modules, and components.
  • •Troubleshoot and root-cause complex system-level issues in manufacturing and the field, then implement and validate diagnostics and calibrations through testing; write technical reports.

Key Requirements

  • •MS or PhD in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, and/or related fields.
  • •4-10 years of experience.
  • •Hands-on experience designing, assembling, calibrating, and using complex opto-mechanical instrumentation or systems with light sources, optical sensors, lenses, and filters.
  • •Experience designing and executing test plans and concept and feasibility studies.
  • •Proficient with data analysis and visualization, and strong programming/scripting experience (e.g., Matlab, Python) with ability to debug system/subsystem SW from logs and error messages.
