Key Responsibilities

  • •Obtain authorisation and re-authorisation for identified patients to ensure fully paid claims.
  • •Capture data and communicate confirmation details to all relevant parties.
  • •Identify and refer risk cases to minimise financial risks (e.g., no authorisation, insufficient LOS/LOC).
  • •Adhere to clinical coding standards as per Level 2 coding guideline.
  • •Ensure compliance with confirmation procedure contracts and legal aspects using available resources and systems.

Key Requirements

  • •Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • •Experience in a clinical environment.
  • •Knowledge of funder contracts and medical aid requirements/narrations.
  • •Familiarity with clinical coding (Level 2 coding) and applicable coding standards.
  • •Ability to use patient administration programmes on the AS400 system and comply with patient administration policies and procedures.
