Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for JP retail employees, partnering with RPOs and manpower agencies to hire temporary/contingent staff aligned to contractual terms and compliance.
  • •Coordinate headcount requisitions and internal hiring processes to support workforce planning and timelines.
  • •Lead annual performance reviews for all JP retail employees in partnership with HR COEs, supporting retail managers and reporting outcomes; support talent reviews focused on capability, potential, and succession readiness.
  • •Lead employee relations matters for JP retail employees, including diagnosis, investigation, stakeholder engagement, and resolution aligned with VF policies and local labor requirements.
  • •Execute stand-up and in-market training for retail operations and employees across JP DTC and distributor partners; roll out corporate/functional training for JP office-based staff, evaluate training impact with KPIs and feedback, and coach managers on reinforcement actions.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree or, in lieu of a degree, at least 5 years’ experience in a large multinational corporation within the retail apparel industry.
  • •4–5 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner and/or within Retail Operations; retail training experience is strongly preferred.
  • •Excellent command of Japanese and English (spoken and written).
  • •Strong understanding of the Japanese market, including cultural norms, workforce expectations, and social trends.
  • •Agile, resilient, highly collaborative, and a proactive problem solver with strong ownership and accountability.
