Key Responsibilities

  • •Collect, enter, and verify dam monitoring data at TSF, Chisola, Musangezhi, Dam 4, Dam 8A, and other facilities specified by management.
  • •Perform weekly piezometer readings and weekly flow/weir and water level readings at assigned facilities, and compile and send weekly monitoring reports for review.
  • •Undertake daily dam condition status inspections and report any anomalies observed in monitoring data and site behaviours.
  • •Conduct routine ERT exercises and other geophysical/geotechnical investigative tasks as requested by Senior Specialists, following clear direction and sufficient training.
  • •Ensure monitoring infrastructure is functional and report malfunctions/damage immediately, support elimination/isolation of monitoring hindrances, and maintain health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 3 years’ experience working in monitoring and surveillance of tailings or water dams.
  • •Ability to read and write clearly.
  • •Ability to use a computer and operate Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • •Working knowledge of piezometer, electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), and dumpy level usage.
  • •Valid Zambian manual driver’s licence and relevant water management/TSF/dam management certification (TSF & dams device monitoring certification is an added advantage).
