Job Summary

Maintain and evolve Vocalink’s HPE Nonstop platform estate and associated technologies supporting two critical UK payment services. Act as a technical owner across Development, Test, and Production—driving availability, resilience, and lifecycle management. Lead investigations and incident/change/problem resolution, perform security and user administration tasks, support audits and risk frameworks, and participate in 24/7 on-call. Build automation, execute failure/recovery testing, and tune capacity and performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as a technical owner for assigned platforms, driving availability, resilience, lifecycle management, and continual improvements across Development, Test, and Production environments.
•Resolve complex problems during investigations, platform changes, upgrades, and incidents, providing technical leadership and guidance.
•Perform user account administration/attestation and implement security improvements/mitigations aligned to corporate standards.
•Apply Incident, Change, and Problem Management lifecycles in line with ITIL best practice.
•Support testing through failure/recovery scenarios and non-functional testing, tuning capacity and performance, and participate in the 24/7 on-call rota.

Key Requirements

•Strong understanding of HPE Nonstop-X system architecture, Guardian & OSS environments, and associated Virtual Tape Backup solutions.
•Knowledge of cryptographic technologies, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), and encryption key management principles.
•Experience working in mission-critical environments and knowledge of transaction/payment based services and systems.
•Passion for IT infrastructure with prior experience supporting and troubleshooting Nonstop-associated applications and complex production systems in second/third line support.
•Ability to solve complex technical problems and remain calm under pressure in support of critical national infrastructure.
