Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with post-training research leaders on priorities, sequencing, and decision points connecting research work to the broader model and product agenda.
  • •Maintain visibility across SFT/RL, data and environments, evaluations, safety, model behavior, inference, training infrastructure, and product dependencies—surfacing gaps early.
  • •Turn ambiguous research and product questions into learning plans, defining what must be true, what evidence changes decisions, and which experiments or user signals matter.
  • •Create lightweight operating mechanisms for critical work (owners, state, dependencies, decisions, risks, release criteria, and follow-through) without imposing a software process.
  • •Translate research results into usable capability through internal adoption, evaluation, documentation, release readiness, product integration, and post-launch feedback.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience as an early or first product leader in a technical startup, AI lab, research organization, or new product area where the operating model wasn’t predefined.
  • •Experience working closely with model training/post-training, RL, evaluations, data, safety, inference, or developer/platform infrastructure.
  • •Ability to deeply understand research well enough to ask sharp questions and connect technical choices to model behavior and users.
  • •A strong record identifying missing connections, unresolved assumptions, or cross-team decision points specialists may overlook.
  • •Ability to represent user and product truth in a research environment without reducing research to a list of requests.
