Job Summary

Executive Underwriter or AVP-level leader responsible for construction casualty underwriting across Auto, GL, and Worker’s Comp, with a market-facing role in the Midwest. You’ll manage complex new/renewal accounts, leverage data-driven risk assessment, and mentor a team within Zurich’s Construction division while collaborating with distribution partners from Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a customer industry advocate with a focus on understanding client risk and offering end-to-end insurance solutions.
•Use a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment and pricing.
•Leverage risk insights, data and models to drive informed decisions at the point of sale.
•Market facing and production within Zurich’s growing Construction division.
•Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, and applicable laws and rating manual rules; operate within broad limits on complex assignments.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 98,500 - 215,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience in underwriting or market facing area (or 7+ years for AVP level) with a High School Diploma or Equivalent; additional Zurich Certification programs with an Associate Degree can supplement experience
•Experience handling construction casualty lines across Auto, GL, and Worker’s Compensation and ability to build relationships with Preferred Distribution Partners in Ohio
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong ability to assess risk, pricing, and exposure while applying underwriting rules and regulatory guidelines
•Ability to work in a team-based environment and operate with broad authority on complex assignments
•Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, and local filing regulations; ability to effectively assess risk and communicate a risk-based decision
