Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems, covering cooling requirements, redundancy, airflow management, humidity control, and energy efficiency.
  • •Select and size air/water side cooling solutions (e.g., CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, and containment solutions).
  • •Identify and calculate cooling/heating thermal loads using HAP, Tracer 3d, EESV, and CYPE; produce specifications, drawings, calculation reports, and technical reports.
  • •Prepare plant drawings and system architecture deliverables including schematic diagrams, control single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and installation details.
  • •Model in Revit, generate pressure drop reports and equipment tables, and coordinate with other disciplines to avoid clashes using Revit and/or Navisworks.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering plus 8 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency.
  • •Strong knowledge of data center TIER topology standards (Uptime Institute, TIA 942, ANSI/BICSI 002).
  • •Experience with load and system calculations using software such as HAP, Tracer 3d, EESV, and/or CYPE.
  • •Experience designing air conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems for data centers plus air/fluid flow diagrams, P&IDs, and sequence of operations.
  • •Experience with Revit for 3D BIM models (including electrical systems) and knowledge of local and international regulations.
