Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and prototype UAV composite structures and complex subsystems, optimizing durability, efficiency, and performance.
  • •Own composite structural design covering material selection, laminate/ply orientation, joint types, inserts, and load introduction from concept to production.
  • •Design injection-moulded and CNC parts and integrate them with composite structures using design-for-manufacturing rules.
  • •Define tooling and process strategy for composite parts, from early rapid prototyping through convergence to series processes.
  • •Lead testing and analysis (stress/failure, delamination, inserts pull-out) and develop validation tools and documentation via Confluence and 2D/3D records.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • •Proven experience designing and prototyping mechanical systems, ideally for UAVs, robotics, or defence applications.
  • •Solid knowledge of composite materials and carbon structure design (laminate design/ply orientation, bonded joints, inserts/hard points).
  • •Hands-on experience with composite fabrication and tooling (layup, vacuum bagging, infusion/prepreg, mould design) with rapid in-house carbon prototyping.
  • •Proficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and strong understanding of manufacturing processes including plastic injection moulding and precision machining.
