Key Responsibilities

  • •Raise the quality of the controls stack across architecture, algorithms, real-time performance, testing, and maintainability.
  • •Advance whole-body control across wheeled-base and biped platforms, coordinating base/legs with upper-body manipulation.
  • •Drive high-impact controls problems including learning-based hand control, mobile manipulation, teleoperation, and estimation.
  • •Translate state-of-the-art model-based and learning-based methods from simulation through hardware bring-up and deployment.
  • •Set technical direction and mentor engineers through design/code reviews and best practices, collaborating with hardware, systems, and RL teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep robotics fundamentals including kinematics, dynamics, state estimation, and optimization/control theory.
  • •Proven whole-body control expertise for floating-base or mobile systems (e.g., WBC/OSC, QP-based control, MPC).
  • •Hands-on learning-based control / reinforcement learning applied to robotics, including simulation training.
  • •Strong real-time software engineering with C++ and Python for robotic systems.
  • •MS or PhD in Robotics/CS/EE/ME (or equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant robot controls experience (4+ with a PhD).
