Job Summary

Lead the development of secure, compliant solution architectures for UK central government digital and data transformation programs. Drive pre-sales activities including RFP responses and solution strategies, translating complex business problems into composable designs across cloud, legacy estates, and integration layers. Partner with multi-disciplinary delivery teams, ensure architectural governance against public sector standards (e.g., GDS, NCSC), and coach other architects to build architecture capability.

Key Responsibilities

•Drive pre-sales activity: develop solution strategies, high-level designs, and collaborate on RFP responses with sales and bid teams.
•Engage senior client stakeholders to translate business problems into secure, compliant, future-ready solution architectures.
•Collaborate with delivery teams to shape delivery models that meet client and user needs.
•Provide governance and assurance to maintain architectural coherence and adherence to government standards (e.g., GDS, NCSC, Cabinet Office, MOD).
•Coach and mentor other architects and support development of architecture capability within the business.

Key Requirements

•Demonstrated success producing winning proposals for central government clients.
•Extensive experience in solution architecture or enterprise architecture roles within government or regulated industries.
•Background in consulting, systems integration, or technology leadership in public sector environments.
•Proficiency with enterprise architecture patterns, public cloud services (Azure, AWS), and integration patterns (API, event-driven).
•Sound understanding of government standards and frameworks including the Digital Service Standard, GDS assessment criteria, and NCSC cloud security principles.
