Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop designs for mechanical distribution systems for data centres (e.g., CHW, HVAC, Fuel to LTHW) and produce system options documentation.
  • •Lead design of data centre mechanical systems and equipment, including technical specifications and compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.
  • •Produce calculations and equipment documentation for tender and ensure coordination with other disciplines such as architects and structural engineers.
  • •Conduct feasibility studies and develop detailed design programmes to ensure sufficient resourcing for delivery.
  • •Monitor installation of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with requirements, design specifications, and safety codes.

Key Requirements

  • •Knowledge and experience designing mechanical systems for data centres, including mission critical facilities.
  • •Chartered status (or working towards Chartered status) with CIBSE or IMechE (or equivalent experience).
  • •Technical MEP knowledge of relevant UK/EU regulations and design guides, plus understanding of the Uptime Institute Tier Classification System.
  • •Working knowledge of TAS of IES and Hevacomp, and 3D design software such as RevitMEP, with allocation/directing capability.
  • •AutoCAD knowledge and ability to work under clear client direction, meet timescales/deadlines, and lead/mentor others.
