Job Summary

Join WSP as a Human Factors consultant in the Intelligent Infrastructure team, applying human-centred design to transport projects. Lead safety-focused research, user profiling, and risk assessment to improve road safety, efficiency and sustainability, while contributing to proposals and future opportunities. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver outputs that shape safer, user-centered infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

•Apply and integrate key principles of human factors, ergonomics and behaviour change to transportation or infrastructure projects and policies
•Undertake research design, execution and reporting, covering quantitative and qualitative research
•Undertake user identification and profiling including behavioural insights
•Undertake Human Factors assessments such as task analysis and in-depth risk analysis to inform infrastructure scheme and operational designs
•Support the Expertise Lead with the preparation of client proposals and managing a pipeline of future opportunities

Key Requirements

•A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g. post graduate degree in ergonomics, human factors) and an appropriate level of experience
•Experience in human-centered design thinking, co-creation and innovation; experience in action-oriented research in development issues
•A demonstrable ability to work in multidisciplinary teams to tight deadlines
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to undertake qualitative and quantitative research and analysis and to create technical outputs (reports, presentations) within time and cost and to high quality
•Appreciation of the role of Human Factors and human reliability as part of safety cases
