Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead, mentor, and grow a 2 to 7 person Hardware Bringup team focused on bringing up new accelerator architectures across the Modular stack.
  • •Stay hands-on by participating in design reviews, contributing to architecture/prototypes, and writing/reviewing code for non-trivial stack components (Mojo kernels, MLIR passes, runtime integration).
  • •Support end-to-end hardware platform enablement from dev-environment bring-up through compiler integration, kernel development, MAX serving, and production-quality model deployment.
  • •Scope engineering deliverables with hardware partners using SOWs, define milestones/acceptance criteria, and manage delivery against commercial commitments.
  • •Partner with Kernels, Graph Compiler, MAX, and Cloud teams to align roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and produce FTE plans and forecasts; hire and calibrate the team with Head of Mojo.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of industry experience in compiler engineering, high-performance computing, kernel development, or related domains, including 2+ years managing engineers.
  • •Strong technical foundation in compilers, systems software, or accelerator programming, with ability to be hands-on and review designs in MLIR/LLVM, kernel codegen, or runtime systems.
  • •Proficiency in C++ and experience working in complex, multi-component software systems.
  • •Hands-on experience with at least one heterogeneous programming model (CUDA, SYCL, OpenCL, or similar).
  • •Demonstrated delivery of multi-quarter technical roadmaps with external dependencies, including scoping/risk management and strong written communication.
