•Recruit, present, and sell the ERIE Agency Career to prospective agents and producers; select, hire, train, and develop new independent agents.
•Influence independent agents to sell ERIE products and services by providing training on products, underwriting, servicing, and agency operations while overseeing complaint handling and inquiries.
•Develop expertise across ERIE commercial, personal, and life products and support understanding and management of underwriting and technology tools, policies, and objectives.
•Act as a field underwriter and direct company link to agents, inspecting and authorizing binding of coverage within authority limits and resolving sales and customer service issues.
•Manage district and agency-level communications, implement best practices, sponsor sales contests/promotions/incentives, and develop agency and district business plans and budgets to meet sales and profitability goals.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent of four years of sales, underwriting, claims or marketing experience.
•Three years of sales, underwriting, claims or marketing experience, or participation in the DSM Training Program.
•Must live in the assigned territory unless a change is approved by the company.
•Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing and e-mail software.
•Valid driver’s license and good driving record; extensive local travel including overnight stays required.
