Job Summary

Lead a section of 10–20 RF electronics engineers while contributing directly to the design and qualification of RF hardware for tactical missile systems. Spend ~85% of your time supporting RF product development across the full lifecycle—architecture, integration, verification, troubleshooting, and supplier technical oversight. Use the remaining ~15% to coach and develop engineers through performance management, mentoring, staffing support, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead, coach, and develop a section of 10–20 RF Electronics engineers, including performance management and career development discussions.
•Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning in partnership with department leadership.
•Lead or support RF hardware design, development, integration, and qualification for transmitters, receivers, exciters, RF sensors, RF modules, and/or circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
•Provide technical oversight of suppliers developing RF hardware to meet program technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
•Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and perform or oversee RF analysis, simulation, verification, troubleshooting, design reviews, technical risk management, and root cause investigations.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
•Experience in at least two areas: RF hardware design and development; RF hardware analysis and simulation; RF hardware integration, verification, and troubleshooting.
•Hands-on experience with one or more industry-standard RF development tools (e.g., Keysight ADS, HFSS, Genesys/SystemVue, Mentor DX Designer or equivalent).
•Experience with RF electronics technologies and systems, including RF circuit card assemblies (receivers, exciters, transceivers, transmitters) and RF sensors.
•Understanding of RF performance metrics (e.g., phase noise, receiver sensitivity, mixer spurs, AGC, IMD, bandwidth, bit error rate, ADC performance).
