Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop horizontal and vertical pipeline alignments to satisfy hydraulic performance criteria while minimizing utility conflicts and construction risks.
  • •Design hydraulic elements and structures, including hydraulic grade line development and shear stress assessment, and apply operational, maintenance, safety, and constructability considerations.
  • •Produce general arrangement drawings and detailed layouts for manholes, hydraulic control structures, valve chambers, maintenance access arrangements, and other pipeline appurtenances.
  • •Prepare high-quality technical reports and client presentations, applying engineering best practices to drive fit-for-purpose and value-engineered solutions.
  • •Lead and review work by junior colleagues, conduct verification and peer reviews, and help maintain professional and technical standards within the organization.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering (or similar).
  • •15+ years’ experience as a civil design engineer delivering buried pipeline infrastructure for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
  • •Highly proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D for developing 3D pipe networks, long sections, and coordinated designs integrating hydraulic, utility, operational, and construction requirements.
  • •Strong understanding of hydraulic principles for gravity and pressure systems, including Manning’s equation, Colebrook-White analysis, hydraulic grade line development, and self-cleansing velocity requirements.
  • •Experience applying pipe material selection and developing general arrangement drawings and detailed layouts for pipeline appurtenances (e.g., manholes, valve chambers, hydraulic control structures).
