Job Summary

Lead process and equipment improvements in solar module manufacturing, working under Area/Sr. Managers to meet Manufacturing P90 metrics. You’ll manage and guide small groups of engineers and/or technicians, resolve technical problems with cross-functional teams, and drive complex equipment/process changes through a stage-gate process. Expect hands-on investigations, process experiments, corrective actions, and documentation to continuously improve robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop, continually improve, and document robust solar module manufacturing processes to maximize product performance in a cost-efficient manner.
•Lead process or equipment improvement initiatives to meet Manufacturing P90 metrics under oversight of Area/Sr. Managers.
•Perform in-depth investigations into process issues and evaluate new proposed equipment against process standards.
•Review process experiment proposals and results; define and implement corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement activities.
•Lead local task forces and project teams, and directly/indirectly manage technical staff up to senior engineer level (as described).

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 112,300 - 160,000 annually

Key Requirements

•>8 years of process engineering and/or R&D experience in a manufacturing environment with broad engineering and technology background.
•Fluent with statistical analysis methods and tools (e.g., JMP or Minitab) and structured problem solving for analyzing big data sets.
•Experience in Photovoltaics manufacturing flow or technology development across areas such as thin film vacuum deposition, glass processing, module packaging, or semiconductor processes.
•Knowledge of materials analysis methods (optical/x-ray spectroscopy, microscopy, electrical characterization) to support troubleshooting.
•Demonstrated ability to lead small technical teams and hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in an engineering discipline or physical science field (or equivalent).
