Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform engineering analyses of electric substations and transmission systems, recommend design options, and engineer detailed designs to minimize customer outages.
  • •Originates reliability studies, outage contingency plans, and capital budget proposals, and determines corrective actions for operating deficiencies.
  • •Recommend system improvements, develop economic project proposals, and provide project management for major substations and transmission construction projects.
  • •Develop and validate engineering analysis information, solve complex technical problems, and direct engineering contractors and consultants.
  • •Provide construction management for substations and transmission lines, including technical specifications, contracts, budget/schedule tracking, and supervision to ensure compliance.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • •At least 5 years of experience in electric transmission systems planning, operations, and/or protection.
  • •Knowledge of FERC and state regulations.
  • •Able to perform circuit analysis, including voltage drop capacitor and regular siting.
  • •Able to perform fault duty/motor start status.
