Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide process design support to the Mechanical Project Design group at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant for the Lithium Processing Facility Project.
  • •Participate in designs covering scope definition, feasibility and conceptual studies, and preliminary/detailed designs.
  • •Develop flowsheets including block diagrams, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • •Perform analyses and calculations to support design work.
  • •Prepare reports/studies and Process Descriptions to document engineering deliverables.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited school, plus 10+ years of progressive professional experience.
  • •Minimum 10 years of experience in process design of complex nuclear or chemical facilities.
  • •Ability to obtain/maintain DOE Q Clearance (DOE Q Clearance preferred).
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and able to meet pre-employment requirements, including required physicals and background investigation.
  • •Selected candidates must complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test (and may require medical exams; WSAP random testing may apply).
