Job Summary

Develop and integrate plant control systems that enable safe, reliable operation of utility-scale solar and battery (BESS) assets. Specify and configure PLCs, RTUs, SCADA/DCS/EMS/BMS/PCS systems, networks, HMI displays, and communication devices. Serve as a SCADA subject matter expert, troubleshoot control and communications issues in the field, support compliance activities (NERC-CIP and PRC), and help coordinate small project workstreams with scope, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop specifications and controls strategies and support SCADA integration and commissioning for solar and battery plant assets.
•Specify, configure, and integrate control and automation equipment (PLCs, RTUs, gateway devices), along with SCADA/DCS/EMS/BMS/PCS-related systems and communications hardware.
•Act as a SCADA subject matter expert and perform engineering reviews, programming, troubleshooting, and long-term operational support for generation assets.
•Develop HMI displays for solar, battery storage, and other SCADA systems.
•Troubleshoot complex SCADA, communications, and control/logic systems in the field; support NERC-CIP and PRC compliance activities and maintain documentation systems; lead small projects/workstreams with scope, schedule, and budget.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited program preferred).
•P1: typically two or fewer years of related field; P2: typically two or more years of related field.
•P2 candidate: Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam strongly preferred (may be required based upon role).
•Working knowledge of control and instrumentation concepts, practices, and procedures (P1) / intermediate knowledge (P2).
•Working knowledge/application of engineering processes and QA/QC processes, including project controls and estimates; working knowledge of procurement and contract administration.
