Job Summary

Join AECOM’s Building Engineering team to support the design of resilient electrical infrastructure across mission-critical projects, including low voltage power systems, lighting, standby generation, UPS, fire alarms, and security. Assist with calculations, load assessments, circuit protection design, and the creation of electrical documentation such as single line diagrams and layout drawings. Collaborate with architecture and structural engineers, with added exposure to data centre grid-to-IT architectures and redundancy strategies.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the design of electrical and lighting systems while adhering to relevant standards across multiple market sectors, including data centre and mission-critical facilities.
•Assist with lighting calculations, load assessments, circuit protection design, and curve coordination, including exposure to data centre load modelling and diversity factors.
•Create single line diagrams, layout drawings, and other documentation, supporting electrical architectures from grid connection through data hall distribution.
•Collaborate with other disciplines (including Architecture and Structural Engineering) to contribute to integrated campus-scale designs for data halls, plant areas, and utility corridors.
•Support development of design basis assumptions for critical systems, including redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N), standby generation, UPS configurations, and resilient power distribution.

Key Requirements

•Be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
•Able to work full-time hours from mid-November 2026 to mid-February 2027.
•Candidates must hold Australian citizenship and be eligible to obtain the required Defence Security Clearance for this role.
