Job Summary

Associate Cost Manager role within AECOM’s Buildings & Places Infrastructure team, delivering cost management across major infrastructure projects in the South West (water, environment, highways, rail, power). Based in Bristol, Cardiff, Plymouth or Exeter, you’ll lead cost planning, procurement, risk and final accounts, develop junior staff, and help grow the business with clients like Anglian Water and the Environment Agency.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and deliver all aspects of cost management from inception of a project through to completion, including feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering, risk management, dispute resolution, post-contract cost reporting and final accounts.
•Maintain and develop good relationships with clients and professionals to uphold and grow the firm’s profile as a provider of premium cost management services.
•Drive performance standards and technical excellence through effective communication and use of practice networks.
•Support client relationships and uphold the firm’s profile by delivering high-quality services.
•Mentor and manage junior staff on technically complex projects and contribute to business development by identifying marketing opportunities.

Key Requirements

•Academic Qualification – ideally Quantity Surveying Degree / Project Management / Construction / Engineering
•Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution
•Significant and proven experience with a strong track record in Cost Management / Quantity Surveying on large scale infrastructure projects
•Good working knowledge of NEC4 suite of contracts, particularly PSC and ECC
•Experience of undertaking cost / commercial management as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams
