Job Summary

Lead and guide the Plan Services Team by overseeing designers, mentoring their work, and performing final plan checks. Create accurate, economical framing layouts and material lists using BlueLinx Engineered Wood Products (EWP) and design software to support sales for projects of any complexity. Coordinate daily plan scheduling and collaborate with branch teams, dealers, builders, architects, engineers, and building officials while supporting customers through training and technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide leadership and guidance to the Plan Services Team by mentoring designers, reviewing their work, and assisting with evaluating performance.
•Perform final plan checks for designers under your oversight.
•Coordinate daily plan scheduling.
•Use design software to produce accurate, economical framing layouts and material lists for EWP projects supporting customer sales.
•Support customers by working directly with branch EWP managers/designers and leading/assisting software training and technical support.

Key Requirements

•Associates degree in CAD or construction technology preferred; structural, architectural, civil, or mechanical engineering/technology degree a plus.

•Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings (floor plans, elevations, building sections, and details).
•Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
