Job Summary

Operate an asphalt paver/screed to spread and level asphalt on highways and private roadways, driveways, parking lots, and similar sites. Make adjustments for correct depth, grade, and finish using screed controls/extensions. Coordinate with other equipment operators, help with asphalt layout and leveling tasks, perform pre- and post-inspections and minor maintenance, and follow OSHA/MSHA safety and environmental procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate the asphalt paver and screed and make normal adjustments to achieve correct depth, grade, and asphalt finish cross section using screed extensions.
•Signal construction equipment operators to support alignment and material movement.
•Assist the paving crew with asphalt layout and preparation using ground paint, string lines, straight edges, and levels for cross-slope checks; perform shoveling and raking.
•Follow plan specifications and coordinate with crew members to meet daily schedules and estimates; perform other assigned tasks as directed by the crew foreman.
•Comply with OSHA/MSHA and company policies, perform daily pre- and post-inspections with documentation, and complete minor equipment servicing/maintenance.

Key Requirements

•1–2 years of asphalt experience required.
•High school diploma or GED preferred.
