Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide oversight to field transmission and distribution employees for safe installation, maintenance, and repairs of the power delivery system.
  • •Manage a team responsible for construction, maintenance, inspection, analysis, troubleshooting, and investigation of control, protection, or automation systems while ensuring standards and procedures are followed.
  • •Contribute to execution of power delivery and corporate capital investment plans and integrated grid strategies; implement procedures and assess and adopt new technology.
  • •Ensure compliance with procedures and functional criteria for complex control, protection, and automation schemes and enforce safe working practices.
  • •Monitor and manage team expenditures, assist with financial controls, and oversee resourcing and professional development including performance management.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent applicable union technical experience.
  • •Prefer eight or more years in the utility industry with five years in a related technology field, including management/supervisory or other leadership experience.
  • •Valid driver’s license and a history of safe driving practices.
  • •Working knowledge of NERC, OPUC, and FCC requirements for construction and maintenance work related to distribution, substation, or communication systems.
  • •Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations, including the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and Oregon OSHA rules, for power supply design and operations.
