Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as Project Engineer for traffic engineering projects for MDOT and municipal projects from inception through completion.
  • •Support cross-functional teams with technical expertise across design management, budgets, tracking, permits, compliance documentation, and technical analysis memos.
  • •Design traffic control devices and prepare quantities, cost estimates, and specifications for transportation bid packages.
  • •Conduct investigations and inspections of site conditions and transportation corridors to determine conformance with rules, standards, and permits.
  • •Lead and/or conduct traffic and crash analyses, complete traffic studies/traffic impact study reviews, and develop signal timing for implementation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • •P.E. license.
  • •7-10 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering, including traffic design experience.
  • •Knowledge of traffic engineering and planning software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS).
  • •Highly proficient knowledge of traffic engineering principles, including traffic control equipment and capacity/operational analysis.
