Job Summary

Lead geotechnical design and report production for foundation, slope stability, embedded retaining walls, and settlement analysis across infrastructure projects, with strong focus on metro work. Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams, support project delivery and financial management, and maintain technical, quality, and SHEQ standards. Provide client liaison and professional advice within the UK & IE geotech team, contributing to technical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop professionally and technically competent geotechnical reports for clients using efficient working practices.
•Support project delivery, including financial analysis, client liaison, public/statutory body consultation, and quality control.
•Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams, providing professional advice that supports relationships and elevates the geotechnical division’s profile.
•Effectively manage and deliver project work with robust project financial management and budget responsibility.
•Operate in accordance with accepted methods, legislation (including CDM), and WSP SHEQ standards, taking ownership for SHEQ aspects across the geotechnical team.

Key Requirements

•Strong geotechnical engineering understanding with substantial project management experience for medium-sized projects.
•Proven metro projects experience, including underground elements design, ground movement assessment, embedded retaining systems, and diaphragm wall designs.
•Experience with geotechnical desk studies, critical checking of Ground Investigation Factual Reports, and preparation of Ground Investigation Reports in accordance with Eurocode 7 Part 1.
•Demonstrable experience producing geotechnical design reports and design submission documentation knowledge, including Eurocode 7 and UK annex design codes.
•Ability to use geotechnical software for design and for managing/reviewing ground investigation and geotechnical data, checking and amending drawings, calculations, and reports.
