Job Summary

Hybrid director-level role leading derivatives execution and quantitative analysis in the front office of Symetra Investment Management. You will identify, execute and manage derivative trades across equity, rates, credit, commodity, and FX; perform risk, P/L attribution and liability analysis; develop trading tools and automation in Python, VBA and SQL; and produce reporting with PowerBI to support hedging decisions and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute derivative trades in accordance with approved derivatives programs across cleared and bilateral markets, including collateral management, trade booking, reconciliation and settlements.
•Perform analytical work on derivative assets and insurance liabilities, including pricing, risk exposures, and P/L analysis; respond to queries from different desks.
•Develop trading tools and automation, including programming in Python, VBA, and SQL to support trading/risk analysis and reporting.
•Prepare regular and on-demand reporting with insightful commentary and actionable recommendations; leverage PowerBI for modernized reporting and dashboards.
•Collaborate with insurance stakeholders on liability data issues and onboarding of new products into trading and reporting systems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 194,000 - 262,000 annually

•8+ years of hands-on derivatives trading and analysis in an insurance company or asset management firm.
•Highly quantitative education in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or operations research.
•Ability to handle trade requests from multiple sources simultaneously and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
•Advanced spreadsheet and coding skills with emphasis on automation (Python, VBA, SQL).
•Sound understanding of derivatives pricing and hedging, including risk-neutral valuation and option pricing techniques.
