Key Responsibilities

  • •Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
  • •Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure and manage materials strategy creation, release, and updates with limited supervision.
  • •Lead the Materials Core Team and coordinate product development deliverables via matrix management and collaboration with engineering to interpret requirements.
  • •Execute sourcing and materials activities including make-versus-buy analysis, supplier price/delivery negotiations, supplier selection/assessment, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
  • •Manage materials change control, execute commercialization (transition) plans, generate key process indicators, and resolve supplier quality/cost issues while tracking total landed cost targets.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrated depth and/or breadth of expertise in a specialized materials engineering discipline.
  • •Ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • •Strong analytical skills to forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements.
  • •Experience coordinating materials strategy deliverables through matrix management of buyers, planners, and production control.
  • •Proficiency in supplier sourcing activities including price/delivery negotiations, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
