Key Responsibilities

  • •Direct plant operations and operating personnel to maintain generating requirements and plant efficiency while meeting safety and environmental standards.
  • •Develop, implement, and manage operating philosophies and best practices to maximize plant availability, efficiency, and productivity.
  • •Constantly review and improve operational processes and ensure personnel are trained and adhere to procedures and standards.
  • •Manage the fuel yard, including safe storage and mixing of biomass fuel, supplier relationships, and fuel quality control.
  • •Manage safety and environmental compliance and reporting, investigate operating abnormalities and forced outages, and prepare operational reports and budgets/ recommendations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 112,000 - 168,000

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or equivalent with typically 6+ years supervisory experience in a solid fuel-fired power plant, or Associate degree/industry certificate preferred with typically 4+ years supervisory experience, or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • •Demonstrated understanding of plant operations including generating equipment, biomass-fired boilers, and water treatment processes.
  • •Knowledge of the maintenance function and ability to plan, coordinate, and direct maintenance activities that influence overall plant operation and performance.
  • •Knowledge of environmental and compliance permits and how they are implemented in an operating plant.
  • •Ability to work shifts and extra/irregular hours and under unusual or special conditions in a biomass-fired generation plant.
