Operate single- or multiple-spindle Acme/Swiss screw machines to machine metal bar stock, including loading/unloading, basic inspection with hard gauges, routine 6S, and tracking good parts, scrap, and completions. Read blueprints and job orders, set up tooling and stock feed mechanisms, perform minor preventive maintenance, and run CNC program offsets and basic program changes based on CMM reports and operating needs.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate Acme/Swiss screw machines with automatic indexing and feeding to machine metal bar stock, including loading/unloading parts.
•Read blueprint or job order specifications (dimensions, tolerances, tooling, cutting speeds/feed rates/depths) and set up collets, bushings, and stock pushers.
•Perform basic part inspection and transacting completions and scrap; inspect part quality using a CMM and interpret CMM reports.
•Change broken/worn tools and perform minor preventive maintenance, including adding lube and cutting oil.
•Make CNC program offsets for shift/drift and tool length/wear compensation and perform basic CNC program changes.
