Job Summary

Lead and grow the planning consents service for major UK infrastructure projects, working with the leadership team and managing applications through the Development Consent Order (DCO) process. Provide line management and mentorship to junior planners, deliver projects on budget and within programme timelines, oversee quality and health & safety, and support business development through client relationship building and commercial tender preparation.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and grow the planning consents service, including line management and mentorship for junior team members.
•Lead major development applications, including the Development Consent Order (DCO) process.
•Provide strategic planning advice to clients and internal teams.
•Ensure projects are delivered successfully on budget and within programme timelines, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
•Oversee planning consents deliverables and uphold quality assurance and health and safety principles, and contribute to business development and tender preparation.

Key Requirements

•Significant relevant experience leading applications for planning consent for large infrastructure projects across a range of consenting regimes.
•Proven experience in planning consents and project management.
•Client focus with good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working approach.
•Ability to write clearly and concisely, and to work on your own initiative under pressure.
•Degree in Town Planning (or related discipline) and membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent professional body.
