Key Responsibilities

  • •Design HVAC systems including duct and pipe sizing, equipment selection, equipment schedules, and vendor coordination.
  • •Design complete plumbing systems including potable water and drainage, pump sizing, and water heater selection.
  • •Provide on-site construction leadership to ensure adherence to design intent and contract documents.
  • •Perform quality control reviews of mechanical design drawings, calculations, and specifications before senior staff verification.
  • •Support construction activities by conducting field inspections, responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, assessing change requests, and participating in commissioning.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering plus four (4) years’ experience designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities (e.g., water/wastewater treatment plants).
  • •Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
  • •Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
  • •Prefer 10 years’ experience designing HVAC and plumbing for light industrial facilities like water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • •Working experience with NBC, BCBC, BCPC, SMACNA, and ASHRAE codes and standards.
