Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead tunnelling, slope stability, and underground excavation assignments from concept and feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
  • •Deliver geotechnical and geostructural solutions to improve safety, constructability, efficiency, and long-term performance for critical underground infrastructure.
  • •Guide geological investigations, alignment studies, ground characterization, excavation support design, and advanced numerical analyses to reduce uncertainty and manage project risk.
  • •Collaborate with geotechnical, structural, geological, mining, and environmental disciplines to create integrated solutions.
  • •Mentor emerging professionals and strengthen technical excellence through quality reviews, knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and innovation.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in geological, mining, civil, or geotechnical engineering; a master’s degree in tunnelling, rock mechanics, or related discipline is an asset.
  • •10–15 years of consulting experience in rock mechanics, tunnelling, underground excavation, and infrastructure design.
  • •Professional Engineer licence with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • •Proven experience delivering large-scale, multidisciplinary tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects from study phases through design and implementation.
  • •Advanced expertise in rock excavation and support design for tunnels, shafts, slopes, portals, and stabilization systems, with strong knowledge of constructability and risk management.
