Job Summary

Perform concrete testing and monitor ready-mixed concrete quality for local batch plants and job sites. Run required ASTM tests (e.g., slump, air, unit weight, temperature, yield), cast and test concrete specimens, analyze aggregates, and maintain results and statistical data in quality control software. Coordinate mix design adjustments with plant teams, ensure calibrated equipment, travel between locations as needed, and provide timely customer service and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

•Abide by safety rules and promptly report unsafe practices and conditions.
•Work with operations to support quality control operations and compliance with policies and applicable regulations.
•Perform required ASTM plastic concrete tests (slump, air, unit weight, temperature, yield) and maintain test results and statistical data for standard mixes.
•Cast concrete test specimens, conduct hardened concrete testing, input results into quality control software, and perform aggregate sieve analysis with regular reports.
•Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, coordinate concrete mix design adjustments with plant foremen/batchmen, and provide professional customer support and onsite corrective action.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED required, plus 1–2 years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent experience/education).
•Must be able to perform concrete tests and procedures per applicable ASTM standards.
•Preferred: ACI Field Testing Technician Level I, NDOT Plant Inspector, and IDOT Level Agg 1&2 and PCC 1&2 technician certifications; must obtain within 12 months.
•Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal/motor vehicle background checks, and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
•Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Outlook and able to use database software and communicate effectively.
