Lead the Commercial Special Assets and Collection departments by managing staff and portfolio workout strategies to reduce non-performing assets while minimizing loss. Ensure strict SBA SOP compliance, present portfolio reviews to senior committees, and negotiate settlements and guaranty purchase packages. Collaborate cross-functionally across credit risk, legal, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage the staff and functions of the Commercial Special Assets and Collection departments to reduce non-performing assets and minimize loss.
•Provide leadership and team management, including building and mentoring workout officers/asset managers and setting performance and accountability expectations.
•Monitor the portfolio and develop workout and rehabilitation strategies and action plans to protect and improve the bank’s position.
•Oversee commercial loan restructuring processes including bankruptcy, foreclosure, and O.R.E.O., and manage the impaired worksheet (IW) process and reserve accuracy.
•Ensure strict adherence to SBA Standard Operating Procedures (including SBA Compliance & Guaranty Preservation) and manage guaranty purchase packages, appeals, and SBA servicing center coordination.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field and/or equivalent experience required.
•Minimum 10 years of related experience including management, with strong understanding of credit analysis, loan documentation, loan workout and restructuring, and bankruptcy-related legal issues.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
•Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.
•Must have knowledge and adherence to SBA Standard Operating Procedures and related SBA compliance requirements.
