Job Summary

Perform aircraft sheet metal work for the New Helicopter Completions (NHC) team, working on assigned aircraft, assemblies, and parts. Read and interpret plans and diagrams, inspect/measure parts, and assemble/install sheet metal components using fabrication and repair shop practices (drilling, fitting, and riveting). Support quality by coordinating with inspectors and running tests to confirm proper assembly, with onsite work predominately in Columbus, MS.

Key Responsibilities

•Read detailed plans and diagrams and inspect/measure parts before assembly to ensure correct size and no defects.
•Install sheet metal parts and assemblies in aircraft while ensuring safe attachment that does not endanger aircraft structures or systems operations.
•Fit and assemble skins, frames, and other components, performing drilling, fitting, and riveting of helicopter sub-assemblies.
•Work with inspectors to run tests and determine whether parts are assembled properly.
•Perform assigned aircraft, assembly, and parts work within the sheet metal area for the NHC team.

Key Requirements

•Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams; apply standard shop practices for fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures.
•Install sheet metal parts and assemblies without endangering aircraft structure or systems.
•Fit and assemble skins, frames, and components, including drilling, fitting, and riveting sub-assemblies such as tail booms and stabilizers.
•Must be able to read, write, and speak English; current Airframe or Powerplant license is a plus (not required).
