Job Summary

Senior / Principal Engineer – Vertical Transportation leads design, specification, and delivery of VT systems across a diverse portfolio of projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with international and regional codes. You will contribute technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and support tendering and client interactions on high-rise, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, and infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and deliver the design and specification of vertical transportation systems (lifts, escalators, moving walks, and specialist systems) across projects
•Prepare technical reports, drawings, schedules, and specifications in line with project requirements and relevant standards
•Review VT designs to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and best practice
•Coordinate with internal disciplines (MEP, Architecture, Structures, BIM) and external stakeholders
•Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and VT suppliers throughout the project lifecycle

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
•Minimum 6+ years’ experience in Vertical Transportation (VT) design and consultancy
•Proven track record delivering VT systems on large-scale developments (high-rise, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, infrastructure)
•Strong knowledge of international and regional codes and standards (EN, ISO, BS) and local requirements across the Middle East
•Chartered Engineer status or active progress toward accreditation is highly desirable
