Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and accelerate the backend architecture powering the team’s core growth levers across feeds, search, and onboarding surfaces; shape how these systems are built from the ground up.
  • •Partner with the Engineering Manager to cultivate a Growth Engineering mindset, balancing velocity with reliability and learning.
  • •Scale impact through collaborative engineering by partnering with surface teams (Relevance, Feeds, Search) and ML-powered systems to surface the right communities to users.
  • •Instrument, measure, and iterate by establishing instrumentation and running rigorous A/B tests; translate activation/retention metrics into architectural decisions.
  • •Guide cross-functional alignment with Product, Design, Data Science, and other Consumer platform teams; represent Community Builders Engineering in Reddit-wide forums and roadmaps.
