Job Summary

Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems using test instruments, road testing, and hand tools, while maintaining service-truck readiness, parts inventory, and accurate documentation on repair orders. Work independently with a high degree of scheduling ownership and complete DOT compliance paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems including electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
•Inspect, test, and road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
•Maintain and operate the company-issued service truck, including safety checks and daily pre-/post-trip inspections.
•Manage parts inventory and complete documentation, including DOT forms and repair orders with photos using the company iOS device and TRAIT application.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience (or alternative combinations including 5 years of related experience).
•Perform DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
•Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
•Maintain a current and valid DOT medical card (with requirements on remaining validity) and be at least 21 years old.
•Possess and supply the required set of hand tools to perform job duties.
