Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead field operations for complex construction, environmental, and infrastructure projects by providing expert technical guidance and oversight of day-to-day site activities.
  • •Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations, including hands-on protective relay testing and independent execution/validation of testing sequences.
  • •Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and subcontractors to deliver field tasks efficiently while complying with regulatory and client requirements, quality, and safety standards.
  • •Mentor technicians, lead field crews and readiness planning (tool inspection, site access coordination, utility marking, weather contingency), and manage site logistics.
  • •Document site activities with field forms/digital tools, act as primary liaison with clients and project leadership, and support incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent.
  • •Minimum 11 years of experience in the electrical testing industry, including medium/high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
  • •Expertise in transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes, including demonstrable relay testing experience across common relay families.
  • •Advanced technical skills for protective relay testing and calibration using test sets/measuring devices, including control scheme testing and microprocessor relay testing and settings uploads.
  • •Experience with electrical field testing standards and practices (e.g., NETA, IEEE, NFPA) and strong communication and documentation skills for field logs and digital reports.
