Key Responsibilities

  • •Observe and monitor delivery of material to ensure it meets quality and quantity specifications.
  • •Inspect scrap metal shipments received by truck, rail car, or ship for compliance with scrap acceptance policy, including absence of environmental hazards.
  • •Record inspection data such as weight, grade, content, and quantity.
  • •Notify operations and commercial supervisors of issues and assist in recommending remedial procedures.
  • •Support safe unloading and provide backup/assistance throughout the yard as needed; report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions.
